Visiting The Museum of Art and Design
Godspeed good readers. The Museum of Art and Design, also known as MAD, is located at 2 Columbus Cir, New York, and sits right across from the entrance of Central Park. Viewing the museum in person is a thrilling experience, the piece they displayed was from jewelry to ceramics to paper dress and clothes. The museum had a variety of different art mediums displayed, and each floor was its gallery with a different theme on every floor. I believe there were 5 floors, starting with the fifth floor the show was called “ Funk You Too! Humor and Irreverence in Ceramic Sculpture” collecting 50 artworks from the ’60s till the present day, these works expand on Funk’s legacy of humor and expressive figurations. Personally, this exhibit was one of the most colorful and my favorite with the different characters and animals involved and how the sculptors felt like they had come to life.
